Rare WW1 US Army Air Service Spalding Hard Leather Flying Pilot Helmet w/Goggles

Straight from the estate of a well-known military antique collector which includes over 30 helmets and pickelhaubes from pre-WW1 and WW2 era that will be listed on my page in the near future

.  None of these helmets have been professionally authenticated that I'm aware of and I am NOT an expert myself.  Anything mentioned herein is simply my uneducated opinion.  That said, all helmet sales are final and returns will not be accepted.  Please take that into consideration and please ask any and all questions you may have before bidding.
This particular helmet is in great shape overall with no major signs of trauma or visible damage but does show obvious age.  The inside cloth and all the stitching is in fantastic condition.  The outside is covered in writing and names/locations including "US Air Service" along the side and the symbol on the front.  Most of the text has faded but is still visible in areas.  Some of these markings can be seen in the pictures.  The goggles show their age and the leather padding is highly disintegrated.  Display head not included.
As previously stated, I am NOT an expert on these helmets but I have done my best to detail this item and point out any noticeable
discrepancies that may concern you as a buyer.  If I missed any important details or you want me to check something in particular, please ask before bidding.
