Antique Vintage Infant Christening Gown - Cotton with Embroidery and Lace
This baptism christening gown was handmade by my great grandmother (1869-1955) for one of her children. She trained as a dress maker and owned a treadle sewing machine. Found in a trunk in my family’s Civil War house in Gettysburg Pennsylvania.

100% soft cotton fabric

Yoke is embroidered with flowers and leaves, crosshatch along the edge front and back

Ruffles, tucks and lace on hem, sleeves and front and back of bodice
·
Sleeves gathered at wrist on lace trimmed band, same lace around the neck band
·
6 tucks at the hem
·
Closes with 3 pearl buttons at top of 12” placket
·
All seams have flip sewn enclosed or finished edges
